Quack ,Quack, do you hear me now !

Obama was born with what could have been a huge foot on his neck his biracial heritage. He didn't have a father with connections or money to help him get started in life. Yet he managed to make it to a station in life that only 43 men before him have in 232 years of our history. Being called Mr. President and having your name added to the history books is a huge accomplishment, being listed as the first minority one makes it even more impressive. Someday there will be streets and buildings named after him.

Trump was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he had his father's connections and money to help him get a start in life. He managed to grow an empire, accumulate money and name building after building and helicopters and planes after himself. It was questionable if he would even get a line or two in history books until Thursday, April 27, 2011 and then historians will be identifying him as the carnival barker, who was so very proud of his accomplishment of getting another United States Citizen who happened to be the first Black president to release his birth certificate.

The Donald has ruined any goodwill he had left with thinking people.  He will be looked at as the clown he has become. He is even starting to look the part.

War equals money for the wealthy leaders.

While the economic crisis continues to take its toll on working families and politicians from both parties claim there's "no money" for vital social services, the entire political establishment remains committed to the predatory, imperialist agenda in the Middle East and Central Asia.

All troops and private contractors must be withdrawn from Iraq and Afghanistan. The intervention in Libya must be ended immediately, and overseas military bases must be shut down.

Our vast empire only benefits the banks and corporations, getting rid of it will help free up the resources needed to maintain a decent standard of living for the working class. That won't happen will it !

Where was the Donald ?

Trump where's your draft card? Let's see how he defend that.

In 1968, when Trump left college at the age of 22, he would have been ripe for the draft unless there was a deferment for real estate executives.

Trump has bragged about going to military school and being a star athlete but he was also a no-show at military enlistment offices.

So in the spirit of asking for birth certificates (has anyone seen Trump's), let's see Trump's draft card and deferment records.

And perhaps he can explain how he managed to avoid the draft - especially after graduating from college in 1968.

I graduated in 1966 and it only took two weeks to get my draft notice.  What happened to him ?  We all know that Bill Clinton skirted his duty. We know Geo. Bush used his name to join  the Guard.

What happened to the Donald?  As an American that watched people make money while I ,and other poor saps, did our duty.  Where was the Donald?  I get tired of listening to him blow his own horn.

People of substance never have to brag about what they can or have done. This man is just a joke.  His recent actions just prove how sad he really is. I bet his children are proud.

Ouch ! feel this pain Mr. President !

What a crock of BS. Mr. President you are nothing more than another rich corrupt politician in a political system that cannot be fixed. What I am really sick and tired of Mr. President, is people like you who say one thing and then turn around and do the opposite. If you believe in something then do it and be damned with what the opposition thinks. Mr. President, even when you had a majority in both houses, you pretty much caved into every demand the opposition wanted instead of governing with a majority. If the majority of the people that elected you had wanted the Republicans to have any say in the matter they would have voted them in as the party of power. Mr. President, you have no balls, so with the BS in saying you feel anyone's pain. You have shown you are only interest in the power your position affords you, the money that Corporate America gives to your party to do their dirty work. Mr. President, while you still have a majority in Senate and are President, how about doing something for the American people for a change, instead of pandering to special interest groups, the rich and Corporate America. Do I expect change, no I don't because our system is so broken, corrupt and full of politicians that are nothing more than bottom feeders. We are at war with the Conservatives who want to put the poor and working people back in their place. You my friend are helping thsm. You sound just like allm the other ass wipes I know that care little for others. I am talking about all the good people whom thank God for all their fortune while turning their backs on the less fortunate.  I refuse to do that. While I am assured of Medicare I still will fight for the fiture generations who deserve it too. Join me if you hace a conscience. Most people only think for themselves. Are you one of them?

Take the Cap Off !!!

Republicans have always disliked Social Security since it's inception. If you think that Republicans care about the common man and woman, just look at their record for a second. They've NEVER passed any legislation that would benefit the working class man or woman in their entire elitist history. Not once! You can thank the democrats for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid as well as housing for poor and other benchmark legislation. The Republicans have always believed and still do that the rich provide the jobs and that solves everything. The government should do NOTHING for anyone. With these deep cuts to the nation's safety network millions will go hungry, lose their jobs, have their homes go unheated in winter, be denied medical care, and be forced to choose between their medicine and food. The Republican party is a national disgrace and should thrown out of office. Wake up people and demand that this budget that's adopted be more fair, more balanced, and contain some degree of humanity and compassion. You'll never get that from Republicans who only care about profits and the rich.

Take the cap off and SS is solvent forever! It's time...way past time...for the uber wealthy to cough up what is for them a couple of bucks and start to pay their share. They are getting some really wonderful benefits from our country, maybe they could help the rest of us a bit!?

Attack state workers , Why?

The following is a random sampling from "Florida Has a Right To Know" website: These are actual positions, years of service, and poverty wages Rick Scott wants cut:

1. Accountant IV, 12 years of service = $36,744.
2. Tax Specialist II, 35 years of service = $40,255.
3. Correctional Officer, 19 years of service = $38,827.
4. Vocational Rehab, 20 years of service = $27,943.
5. Senior Rehabilitation, 30 years of service = $34,087.
6. Government Analyst, 13 years of service = $37,561.
7. Revenue Manager, 22 years of service = $31,691.
8. Protective Investigator, 22 years of service = $33,783.
9. Tax Auditor IV, 23 years of service = $44,845.
10. Accountant I, 5 years of service, = $24,580.

These workers haven't received a raise in five years and earn approx 50% less than their private sector counterparts..when compared nationwide, Florida's employee compensation ranks "dead last".

State workers need to organize, protest, "sick-out", do whatever they must do to end the continued exploitation at the hand of their employer !

Florida state employees are the perfect textbook example of the need for unions, and the fate of workers left in the hands of their employer

Why are Republicans trying to drive a wedge between state and private workers?  Simple, the money nthey save is money they can give to their supporters and pals. The Gov. in Ohio has already given his staff hugh raises.  Gov. of states attack state workers ,WHY ?

Ohhhhhh Noooooo !!!

We're NOT broke. That is a myth. It is an oversimplification and naive to compare the US economy to a family with credit card debt. The R's and thier propaganda arm at Fauxsnooze are trying to exploit the defecit to do what they've always wanted to do which is dismantle the government. The solution to all problems in their worldview is to cut taxes and cut spending and it isn't working. The R's have filibustered no less than 16 jobs bills since obama took office because they insist that "we're broke". But if we don't invest in programs to get people back to work, it will never get better.

We must raise taxes to keep our country on the upswing. We became a great power by taking care of our citizens with programs that work. We still have a good educational system that allowsm students to get out of it what they put into it. It's not the schools fault that so many families place the education of their children at such a low priority.

We will not have a future if we get rid of SSI and Medicare. Medicare is still operating with the same percent of payroll deduction as when it started. This would be ok if wages kept up with medical costs. We all know that has not happened. This problem can be fixed but not if we listen to these ignorant Tea Party quacks !

As for health care ........... Read my other posts on the subject !  All my Dr. drive expensive cars and go on more than one great vacation a year. I drive crap and go away for the weekend. I did spend $11,000 out of pocket last year for medical coverage and co-pays. I would have been much better off spending an extra $5,000 a year on a Medicare buy in or a public option but OHHHHH NOOOOOO.

Let them eat cake !!!

Let's add up their numbers:

$600 million - community health centers.
$414 million - state and local police departments.
1.6 billion - EPA
$786 million - Home Land Security.
$7 million - Bureau of Public Debt.
$1 billion - HIV and disease-prevention.
$3 billion - agriculture programs.
$390 million - low-income heating assistance.
$942

Leave these people alone !

Studies of sexuality, conducted by the Kinsey Institute fifty years ago, indicated that 10% of the population identified itself as homosexual.  The actual number is undoubtedly much higher because some of the respondents to the surveys and interviews were so deeply in the closet they were fearful of exposure even in a supposedly "blind" study.  Sexuality  This issue has been decided by the American public. You can't pray the gay away. Leave these people alone !

Look at the last 10 years !!!!

Reagan got elected by telling the country the debt was "out of control." Compared to national income, it was the lowest in 50 years. He probably didn't know. But his supply-side economists did. They lied to America.
In 1981 Reagan's supply siders wrote the tax cuts for the rich and his budgets. The Senate was Republican, and Reagan got the Southern Dems in the House to vote for him. All Republicans and a few Dems voted for the budget. The national debt had its worst year since 1945. The next year it got worse, and for 20 out of 20 years, the supply siders raised the debt relative to our ability to pay. We are in trouble now because of all the interest that has added up because of this debt. George Bush did the wrong thing when he lowered taxes. His eight years in office almost brought the country to it's knees. I does amaze me that today we are trying to do the same thing by lowering taxes even more and expecting our country to turn around.

We Are in Danger! ... but Not from the Debt
The danger is from self-styled radical "conservatives" who ran up the debt during good times and want to pay if off in bad times. (Even more dangerous—a lot of Democrats are buying this too.) Of course, they all mean well. But the road to hell is still paved with good intentions. Close to 10 million Americans are out of work, and tea-party "patriots" want to cut spending—that means cutting jobs. This simply will not work and will make things worse.

We must cut our military budget by half. We do not need 700 military bases around the world.  Next we must raise everyones taxes to the rates under President Reagan. Next we must close all tax loop holes and make everyone pay their fair share. We must address Medicare by getting a hold on th high medical costs by regulation or going to a single payer plan. We can save 50% of our health care costs by doing this . We must take these savings and invest in programs that do create jobs building America back up and actually adding to our tax collections. TAX CUTS ARE NOT THE ANSWER. LOOK AT THE LAST 10 YEARS !!!!!

All the sheep have no wool !

The GOP had succeeded in turning ,what's usually a fight over spending into a series of battles over spending cuts – a  victory for House Republicans swept to power by a populist mandate for smaller, more austere government."

Let's be clear here, what the Republicans are selling is Country Club Populism, not Populism, and slowly but surely the American people, including the Republicans own Tea Party base, are cluing into that fact. Remember there was a Television Show about the Eisenhower era of 90% taxes on the top income earners and it was called "Happy Days". Even I think this rate was much too high.

The President needs to push the raising taxes on the rich, closing corporate loopholes, and instituting a transaction tax on Wall Street. It is obvious to anyone honestly looking at the situation that the United States has a revenue problem that throwing the elderly off Medicare and Social Security won't solve. A transaction tax on Wall Street is just one idea to raise revenu from all this money shifting that goes on with the Wealthy.

There are ways to solve our problems besides shearing all the sheep. Wake up America before your wool boat is gone ! BAH BAH BAH !

Blind or Stupid ?

Medicare will go broke by 2019, seven years earlier than predicted a year ago, and could begin squeezing the rest of the federal budget as soon as 2011, according to a report released Tuesday by the trustees of Medicare and Social Security.
The annual report blamed the deterioration in Medicare's long-term financial outlook on lower-than-expected revenue from workers' payroll taxes, higher spending on health care and the prescription drug benefit Congress passed last year. Social Security's outlook changed little; it is expected to remain solvent until 2042.
The annual report has predicted impending bankruptcy for Medicare and Social Security for years. No one expects the prediction to come true. Rather, it is designed to show what could happen if no action were taken to fix the problems.
The Medicare trustees have reported that because of George Bush's irresponsible tax breaks for the wealthy and his giveaway to the prescription drug companies, Medicare might not even be there for our generation,"
I know that there needs to be a complete overhaul with higher taxes and more control over medical costs. These options are not going to make people happy but without Medicare our seniors will be facing real death panels.  There is no way that seniors can afford medical coverage of 12 to 15 thousand a year even with 3 to 4 thousand Paul; Ryan vouchers. The simple fact is that we need to get Private money making Ins. companies out of the health care business and go to a single payer system. Don't hold your breath because when it comes to money most American politicians and businessmen will fight and lie to keep the lion share. No one in power cares if an old person lives or dies. They just want money and power. If you can't see this your are either blind or stupid.

So What ! Why the fuss. Move on !!!!!!

Since 2008, "birthers," who believe Obama was born in Kenya and thus ineligible to be president, have been requesting information from the state about his birth. The requests continued despite Obama's camp releasing a copy of his certificate of live birth and reports of Obama's birth announcements published in 1961 in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and The Honolulu Advertiser.
Hawaii's privacy laws bar the release of birth records unless the requester is someone with a tangible interest, such as a close family member.
Hawaii's former health director has repeatedly said he's verified Obama's original records. Also, two local newspapers published notices of Obama's birth in 1961 Although the law has changed over the years Obama was born under this applicable law.
For persons born between December 24, 1952 and November 14, 1986, a person is a U.S. citizen if all of the following are true (except if born out-of-wedlock)[7]:
  1. The person's parents were married at the time of birth
  2. One of the person's parents was a U.S. citizen when the person was born
  3. The citizen parent lived at least ten years in the United States before the child's birth;
  4. A minimum of 5 of these 10 years in the United States were after the citizen parent's 14th birthday

Give me a break !

Title X, the only federal grant program dedicated solely to family planning and reproductive health services for low-income and uninsured patients, has nothing to do with abortion.
But House Republicans have said limiting abortions is the primary reason for their proposal to cut more than $300 million from Title X for the rest of fiscal 2011, even though abortion is explicitly excluded from the program's coverage.
Ironically, cutting Title X funding might actually increase the incidence of abortions. Family planning services at Title X-funded clinics helped prevent 973,00 unintended pregnancies in 2008, which would have caused more that 400,000 unintended births and more than 400,000 abortions.
The Title X family planning program was enacted by President Nixon in 1970 to fund a range of preventive health care services free of charge to patients at or below the poverty level. For low- to moderate-income patients, there is a sliding fee scale for access to Title X services, which include breast and pelvic exams, Pap smears and other cancer screenings, HIV testing, pregnancy testing and counseling, and affordable birth control.
Title X funds can be allocated to any clinic that provides family planning services to poor and low-income patients, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that there is at least one Title X funded clinic in around three quarters of all U.S. counties.
"Title X is a longstanding, highly successful program, and there's really good evidence, since it's been around so long, that it actually cuts down on unwanted pregnancies," said Helen Burstin, a physician at La Clinica del Pueblo, a Title X-funded community health center in Washington, D.C. "It does not cover abortions. I find it extraordinary that they're commingling this with abortion in such a bizarre way."
Republicans are targeting Title X because roughly a quarter of its funds are allocated to Planned Parenthood, which provides abortions in addition to its preventative care services. Although Planned Parenthood has long been banned from using federal money for abortions, conservatives argue that the money it receives from Title X frees up other money that can indirectly be used for abortions Gived me a break !

Daily Rant !!

I wish the good people of Wisconsin---(God Bless Them!)---would recall or somehow otherwise get Paul Ryan out of Congress.
This reprehensible excuse for a human is doing his rotten best to destroy Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security with his phony budget that gives STILL MORE TAX BREAKS FOR THE RICH! He is a selfish pig who needs to be sent home! Sorry but after I actually read his budget proposals today I just had to rant !  I think my daily rant said it all.

CBO : Ryan's plan will hurt Americans!!!!!

The Congressional Budget Office on Tuesday laid out the pros and cons of Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) budget proposal in clinical, detached terms. Its analysis: The plan would bring the nation’s debt under control and significantly reduce the threat of sudden economic crisis and gradual decline, but would also increase health care costs for the poor and elderly in the future .  There is no need to cut programs that help the poor and average Americans.  The problem really is the unchecked rising cost of Health Care in this country.  Programs ,like Medicare ,are asked to provide the same help to Seniors without any tax increase or cost controls .Medicare part D,under Bush, was not funded and added to the problem.

The facts are simple in my mind.  Medicare is a single payer system that works well. It keeps costs down and delivers life-saving care for millions of seniors. There is no death panels or rationed care. There are death panels and rationed care under private insurance.  The wealthy can afford care and can also make money off of a private system. This is the reason they try to scare people about the evils of a single payer system.  These are all lies. People in Canada and other countries would never, never give up their system.

This whole argument centers around money. The private ins. companies ,and their investers, will never give up all the profit easily. The facts are clear though. A single payer system would reduce costs, ease the burden on workers and their employers. It would also provide lifetime care for people without worries and stress.

As far as I am concerned, people against a single payer system are seff absorbed, evil people who do not care about the poor and uninsured. They have no compassion and blame the poor for being poor. I often wonder what side Jesus would be on ?

Black Gold rules this country my friends !

Despite astronomical profits during what have been lean years for most everyone else, the oil and gas industry continues to benefit from massive, multi-billion dollar taxpayer subsidies. Opinion polling shows the American public overwhelmingly wants those subsidies eliminated. Meanwhile, both parties are hunting feverishly for ways to reduce the deficit.
But when President Obama called on Congress to eliminate about $4 billion a year in tax breaks for Big Oil earlier this year, the response on the Hill was little more than a knowing chuckle. Even Obama's closest congressional allies don't think the president’s proposal has a shot.  When the Democrats were in charge of both Houses they still had no chance. With the Republicans in charge of the House now there is really no chance to aliminate subsidies from industries that are making huge profits and still taking fron the Government.

According to OpenSecrets.org, Rep. Joe Barton, who apologized to BP, has received $1,587,780 in donations from the oil and gas industry since 1989. Senator McConnell received $488,700 from oil and gas in 2010, and Senator Inhofe received $457,550 form oil and gas in 2010, $251,654 from electric companies, and $41,800 from Koch Industries. Senator Landrieu received $389,550 from oil and gas in 2010, and $237,856 from electric companies. Of the $27,982,434 in total contributions to the 2010 election campaigns, 77% went to Republicans.

It's not just the politicians who are compromised by these industries. Journalist David Brooks recently said that we couldn't have a responsible environmental policy in this nation because taxpayers wouldn't pay the extra costs. He completely ignored the corrupting influence of oil money in our congress. Until we demand the Fair Elections Act, where candidates are funded by small donations from the people and public financing, we will have a dysfunctional congress. Until we rid congress of lobbyists, we will not have a government of, for and by the people, and we will not implement a sound environmental policy to combat global warming. It's up to us to demand these changes to safeguard the future for our children.
Too much money in our election process is the reason that our Gov. servers it's masters instead of it's citizens.

Medicare is great, and needs protected.

Medicare is great!!!

Medicare is not an insurance program. It is set up in a way that lets todays workers help pay the medical bills for Seniors I have heard a lot of neg. comments made about how the U.S. Government runs this program. A lot of politicians disparage the government on it's handling of Medicare. Here are a few facts.
1. The worker that makes $50,000 a year has 1.5% of his or her wages taken out for this program . That's $750 a year.
2. The employer has to match that amount making the total deduction per worker $1,500 a year.
3. The average amount that is spent on medical costs for seniors is around $3,800 per year.

The Government does a fantastic job of holding costs down by limiting the amount Doctors. and hospitals can charge a patient. Simply put; the gov spends around $3,800 to cover the medical costs of a senior. Private insurance charges an average of $12,000 premiums a year to a person who needs coverage.
There is way too much profit built into the system. A government run system would be a lot more efficient and less expensive. Our political leaders will not tell us the truth because they are paid off ,or lobbied, by the insurance industries. The health of Americans is too important to let this happen.. A National Insurance plan would be a lot cheaper and more efficient than private coverage.
We do not have the best health care in the world. Saying it over and over  does not make it  true.  The main reason that Medicare will run into trouble in the future is because of the unfunded  MedicarePart D that Bush signed into law. Wonder why he did that

Trickle this !

Trickle down has proven over again that it doesn't work. The numerous wars the GOPers have started and left unfinished haven't worked. The war on drugs and the numerous law and order campaigns they orchestrated are abject failures. Now they are demanding huge spending cuts in the middle of a recovery. What conclusion is one to draw from this other than the obvious that they can't govern and their policies are a disaster for the country? The only one I can come up with is that their primary goal is to wreck the recovery in order to make President Obama look bad and hurt his chances of re election

Look, Medicare is a program that was put into law ,under the Social Security Act, in 1965. This program provides medical care for seniors over the age of 65.  The reason for this law was simple. Seniors could not afford the rising cost of medical care when they retired. A lot of people just ignored their medical problems and just died. They could not afford to go to the Dr.  The Republicans helped passed this law because a large number of them knew that it was the right thing to do.

Medicare is under attack by a new breed of Republican.  They are trying to sell America on the need to slowely get rid of the program. Instead of trying to slow the growth of services they feel that giving seniors a voucher of $3800 a year is the answer. Would your mother or father be able to buy Ins with this voucher?  My mother and my wifes mother could not. They depend on these services to live. The program works. (See other posts of mine on Medicare).  The Republicans are slick and know that a single payer system like this is a danger to their wealthy followers.

Only in America !

Many people have suggested that College Players should be paid for their sports. I say NO.I had to spend 4 yrs in the military to get some money from the G I bill to go to school. I had to commute three of the four years . I bought used books, quit one year for a job to buy a used car,ate cereal three times a day, went on food stamps for a while. I faired better than most students. Most students went through what I did but graduated with thousands and thousands of dollars of debt. I agree that there needs to be some changes but these players get all bills paid for,new books, shoes, great food, free tutors, and a chance to graduate owing nothing. If they do not want a free education than don't come to school.  I an getting tired of all the crying about their lack of payment for their work. These players are getting a chance to walk away with ,in some cases, a $250,000 education. If they choose to throw this oppertunity away then I must shake my head. Only in America.
