Studies of sexuality, conducted by the Kinsey Institute fifty years ago, indicated that 10% of the population identified itself as homosexual. The actual number is undoubtedly much higher because some of the respondents to the surveys and interviews were so deeply in the closet they were fearful of exposure even in a supposedly "blind" study. Sexuality spans the gamut of the population from people who have no interest in same sex relationships to those who have no interest at all in the opposite sex. But, many people have some inherent interest or curiosity in same sex relationships that occasionally manifests itself.
The "social conservatives" reflect the population of the rest of the country. They may use some of the Biblical passages to justify their obnoxiously intrusive viewpoints.
How often will we have to witness the tearful public denouements, public humiliations of spouses and "therapy retreats" by NJ Governor James McGreevey, Montana Senator Larry Craig, Reverends Jim Bakker, Ted Haggard, Representative Mark Foley and other self-haters?
It is time for these hypocrites to get out of our bedrooms. As long as no one is forced, hurt, or endangered, what does it matter what we do, how we do it and with whom. This issue has been decided by the American public. You can't pray the gay away. Leave these people alone !
