I guess I have compassion for my fellow man.

I don't mind my tax dollars going for extended unemployme­nt benefits for those that can't find work in this economy.  I don't mind my tax dollars going for food stamps for those less fortunate.  I can't stand to think about children going to bed hungry at night or being without a home because their parents can't find work.

I don't mind my tax dollars going for health care for those that need it.  I have been without insurance and I know how it feels not to be able to see a doctor when you are sick.

I guess I have compassion for my fellow man.  I guess that's why I am a Democrat.

I do not go to church much because I do not hear these kinds of things from church leaders. I do not hear them preach the words of Christ that make me feel like a Christian person  with love and compassion.
Why is that. Why is it alright to spend my tax money on guns,bombs,poison chemicals ,and tax breaks for the wealthy but not for the care of my fellow citizens. Citizens whose circumstance I do not sit in judgement of?

I want my tax money to go where It is needed, not for programs that give it to corporations and people that do evil with it.
